The Misión Peniel Community Garden plans have been developed with the help of Cultivate Abundance and "seed money" from MP friends and partner churches! We will officially break ground after we install a fence around the garden area. In the meantime, we have been working with a group of women from the community to identify food scarcity issues and the ways to address them together. At the end of April, this group of women helped transfer over 100 seedling plants to portable containers that could be taken to their homes.
Some of what was transplanted included: Okra, Chipilin, Eggplant, Tomatoes, Mustard Greens, Amaranth, Purslane... These women are recording the progress of their plants and will report back in June. It was an exciting month for garden progress!
We are hoping churches and individuals with an interest in gardening will help support this new ministry. Please contact us if you would like to get involved in some way! Click on the link below for a printable document on our community garden.
We thank God for this new opportunity to meet the needs of this community!
